A gold rectangular notebook with a red silk lining. The cover is inlaid with lozenges in a variety of hardstones. In the centre of each side is an oval, gold framed miniature: Marie-Antoinette on the front and Louis XVI on the back. The gold pencil holds the book shut by being placed through loops to the right-hand side. There is a paper notebook with pink covers inside.
