Maria Theresa of Austria died on November 29th, 1780. In her last letter to her daughter, Marie Antoinette, dated the day after her 25th birthday, Maria Theresa wrote: “Yesterday I spent time more in France than in Austria, and I remembered all the happy times in the past, which is indeed gone.”

Happy Halloween! Who will you be tonight?
Hooray! My USB DVD drive came in today and I can finally use my region-2 DVDs on my laptop again! The only downside is that it doesn’t play DVD-R like I hoped it would—I recorded Madame du Barry with Dolores del Rio on my DVD player but so far, no way to get it on my laptop. Ah well!
